In partnership with the Australian Defence Force and supporting our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC), Ventia are currently seeking an Upholstery Machinist at Puckapunyal, located 10km west of Seymour.

 

This exciting and unique role will see you perform canvas work that include repairing items such as tents, equipment coverts, and tool pouches.

 

This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday on site with midday finishes every Friday.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Select, measure and cut out pieces of fabric, vinyl or leather using shears or electric cutting tools.
  • Sew pieces together using industrial sewing machines.
  • Repair tents and parachutes.
  • Manufacture work according to drawings and sketches.
  • Contributing to the collaborative innovation by identifying continuous improvement initiatives.
     

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Relevant professional qualifications are desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of removal of Hazardous Material.
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary software necessary to support the position.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
