Graduate Intelligent Transport Systems Technician

About the role
The Eastlink Alliance is a longstanding partnership between ConnectEast and Ventia operating and maintaining one of Melbourne’s busiest road networks.
 

Ventia is seeking a recent graduate with genuine interest in building a career as a Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Technician. Our ITS Technicians support OMCS and Tolling System engineers and specialists to ensure the integrity and performance of all back-end infrastructure, including tolling and ITS systems associated with the EastLink tunnels and motorway.

• Attain broad knowledge of Telecommunications, RF communications, CCTV, Tolling Systems, Fibre Optics, incident detection systems, computing & networks
• Develop logical skills in fault identification and diagnosis.
• Enable you with the ability to in the maintenance of electronic systems (can perform fault diagnosis & rectification). 
• This role offers career pathway to an ITS Technician & ITS Engineers.

What you’ll do

• Basic configuration, maintenance of tolling systems & inspections.
• Assisting with technical support to the operation through the performance checks and maintenance of designated Front End Computer Systems, Intelligent Transport Systems, operating systems, server equipment, and other specialized systems.
• Provide support to the RF subsystems, UHF, VHF, FM, AM, Public Address and O & M Radio through scheduled preventative maintenance and fault response.
• Assist with providing support to the virtual infrastructure platform and associated networks.
• Provide support to the Electronic Tolling Systems through the maintenance, timely fault response and administration of Roadside Tolling Equipment.

About you 

• Tertiary qualified in Information Technology/Information Computer systems (or related disciplines). CCNA qualification required.
• Experience in networking and configuring switches. 
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems & MS Office suite. 
• Keenness to learn and adapt on the go
• Full Driving License
