About the role
The Eastlink Alliance is a longstanding partnership between ConnectEast and Ventia operating and maintaining one of Melbourne’s busiest road networks.
We are seeking 2 x Truck Mounted Attenuator Drivers to join our operations and maintenance team on a part time basis. The position is for a fixed term of 18 months which may lead to permanent position or other opportunities within Ventia. 

 

We are offering: 

  • 5 day fortnights (rotating roster of 2 days one week & 3 days the next)
  • 6am – 6pm, 12-hour shifts (averaging 30 hours a week)
  • Monday – Friday 
  • An attractive hourly rate of $ 35.56 (inclusive of allowances and shift penalties). 

 

What you’ll need

  • Possess and continue to hold a current Heavy Rigid Victorian Drivers Licence
  • A minimum of 3 years experience operating a Truck Mounted Attenuator on high-speed motorways
  • Ability to work overtime where required
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and traffic conditions. 
  • Roadside traffic Management certificate
  • First Aid & Fire extinguisher experience and qualifications

 

Duties:

  • Attend reported incidents as directed for the motorway, tunnels
  • Participate in the closure of the freeway or tunnel carriageway / lanes to protect incident scenes and make safe for road users. 
  • Provide roadside traffic management services and resources to clean up after an incident. 
  • Proactively patrol the EastLink freeway, tunnels and interchanges and report issues.
  • Set up and shutdown traffic management to control traffic as per traffic management plans, as required.
