Kitchen Hand

The Role
Ventia are seeking a Kitchen Hand to join our Defence Base Services contract. Reporting to the Head Chef, this position will see you based at HMAS Striling / Garden Island in Rockingham, WA. In this role you will support the naval staff with food preparation, cleaning dishes, overall cleanliness and tidy up the kitchen as well as serving food and drinks, and cleaning tables.

This is a fixed-term position scheduled to end on 30/06/2025 with a possible extension to a full-time permanent role. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 06:30am-01:30pm (no weekends or public holidays).

The payrate for this position is $24.08 per hour.

To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.

Key duties, but not limited to:

• Food preparation for service periods
• Clean, sanitise and maintain equipment
• Wash crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and other utensils after each service period
• Support stock management initiatives, including stock rotation
• Receive, lift, handle and store food deliveries

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a similar role or industry
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) – Highly regarded
