The Role
Ventia are seeking a Lifeguard / Gym Attendant to join our Defence Base Services contract. Reporting to the Sports and Recreation Supervisor, this position will see you based at HMAS Stirling / Garden Island, Rockingham WA, and are responsible for maintaining supervision and safety of the Pool area. You will also be stationed within the on-base Gym to ensure it is maintained clean and tidy for each day.
This position is a full-time permanent role, working hours are Monday to Friday 38 hours per week with weekend work when required. The shifts you will be working will consist of the below.
- Morning Shift: 05:30am - 01:30pm
- Afternoon Shift: 11:30am - 07:30pm
- Weekends: Anytime time from 09:30am – 06:30pm
The payrate for this position is $28.38 per hour.
To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.
Key duties, but not limited to:
- Providing safety advice, performing rescues, first aid and resuscitation as required
- Removing Pool covers when opening the pool and recovering at closing periods
- Checklist is run through daily, removing leaves / debris
- Maintain a tidy Gym with a high level of cleanliness and putting used equipment away
- Perform day one inductions for new attendees, manage sign-ins and equipment checks throughout your shift
- Answer any general enquires or questions as needed
Requirements:
- Driver’s Licence with your own reliable car
- Pool Lifeguard Certification
- Provide First Aid
- Working with Children Check
