Irrigation Technician

About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experience Irrigation Technician to join our specialist sports turf team. You will be responsible for maintaining and managing high quality facilities for Auckland’s sports clubs. We have a reputation for the quality of our work and have been awarded best grounds person of the year by our client for 5 out of the past 6 years.

 In this role you will be responsible for the sports fields irrigation system over the North Shore.

What you will be doing?

• Work closely with the Turf Manager to ensure irrigation systems are sustainably managed and maintained to minimise water usage on our sport fields
• Assist Horticulture team with garden irrigation systems
• Repairs and component replacement
• General sport field maintenance
• Assist in other projects as required
• Monthly water meter readings

 We are looking for Individuals who:

• Have knowledge on Turf Management (Level 3 or Level 4) – Training can be provided
• Have a full NZ Drivers licence - manual
• Take pride in your work and are committed to consistently delivering quality workmanship.
• Are physically fit and committed to getting the job done.
• Have flexibility to work additional hours as the season requires.
• Are reliable and always on time for work.
• Energetic and self-motivated.
• Comfortable with phone and computer as the irrigation is controlled online.
