About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic kitchen team. You will play a key role in maintaining cleanliness, supporting food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
This role is a permanent, full-time role from Monday - Friday 07:00 - 15:30 based at RAAF Base East Sale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and other ingredients
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment
- Remove rubbish and ensure kitchen waste is disposed of properly
- Unpack and store deliveries in the correct areas
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Perform other duties as directed by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Physically fit and able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
