About the role

Ventia’s Defence Base Services (DBS) team are seeking to engage an experienced Food & Beverage Utility. This ongoing casual position will see you based at Campbell Barracks, Swanbourne. This role will see you working a variety of shifts over a seven day roster period.
 

Key duties, but not limited to 

  • Clean, sanitise and maintain equipment, furniture and premises
  • Ensure all required repairs, hazards and maintenance are reported
  • Wash all crockery, cutlery and glassware after each service
  • Support stock management initiatives, including stock rotation, review of labels and used by dates, loading and unloading supplies, restocking consumables, and assist with stock take activities
  • Examine all Mess signage and notice boards daily, ensuring current information is displayed
  • Participate in team meetings and toolbox talks, and offer suggestions for improvement to operations, safety or service where appropriate
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Food and Beverage Supervisor
     

 Skills & experience

  • Prior experience delivering food and beverage services is desirable
  • Knowledge or understanding of Defence Force operations, systems and functions is desirable
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability work in a team
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders

 

Other special conditions 

 

  • Must be an Australian Citizen, to obtain a Department of Defence Security Clearance
  • This position requires a National Police Clearance Check
  • Travel may be required on occasion between Defence Bases
