About the role:
Reporting to the Commerical Director for our Telcommunications sector in this position you will drive strategic impact on work winning initiatives leading front end commercial activities for new business and major renewals, reviewing contracts, identifying risks, and shaping commercial strategies that drive growth and protect business outcomes.
This is a hands-on role in a well-supported professional team that work on genuinely exciting opportunities within the Telcommunications market. You’ll own negotiations and ensure commercial integrity across the Telecommunications portfolio, playing a vital role in guiding financial decisions and managing risk throughout the pre-contract phase.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead commercial strategy and risk management during the pre-contract phase.
- Review and assess tender documents, contracts, and pricing for new and renewal opportunities.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business procedures.
- Collaborate with bid teams, estimators, and business units to mitigate risks and validate pricing.
- Prepare key documentation including commercial departures, approvals, and submissions.
- Strengthen governance of commercial policies and procedures.
- Manage procurement activities and supplier evaluations.
- Oversee contract handovers, negotiations, claims, and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with client and project requirements through effective reporting and governance.
- Liaise with Legal, Treasury, and Finance to meet corporate requirements.
About You:
- Degree-qualified in Business, Law, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in commercial and contract management, ideally within Telco or civil construction.
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record managing multi-million dollar projects.
- Skilled in risk management, pricing, and dispute resolution.
- Solid understanding of construction principles, legal frameworks, and commercial governance.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver strategic outcomes.
