Pool Lifeguard

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a qualified and experienced Pool Lifeguard to join the Ventia Team at RAAF Tindal. The successful candidate will be always supervising swimmers while swimmers are in the pool area.
Rosters are 5.45am – 1.45pm or 1.15pm - 9.15pm, offering $32.25 an hour.
To qualify you must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain a Defence clearance.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure all pool users adhere to site-specific orders and instructions
- Supervise pool users, ensuring they move safely about the pool area and adopt safe water entry practices and instruct/assist classes in fundamentals of swimming as needed
- Complete general pool management and administration tasks associated with water quality and other legislative requirements
- Ensure pool surface, sub surface and surrounding areas are clean
- Ensuring pool rescue equipment is in appropriate condition for use
- Maintain all QA paperwork in line with safe working practices and operational procedures
About you:
- State recognised qualification in Lifeguard
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
- Administer oxygen/CPR in an emergency situation
- Requalify in all lifeguard specific competencies as per state legislation
- Rescue and Resuscitation qualifications (often known as Depth Test) to at least the deepest part of the pool at their facility (valid for 12 months)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
