Diesel Mechanic (Workshop)

About the Role 

Exciting times are ahead at our specialised workshop as we continue to expand and take on new challenges. We have a permanent opportunity for a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Plant Mechanic to join our dynamic team. You will report into the workshop superintendent and be responsible for supporting the service, repair and inspection of all drilling and well servicing rigs, operational equipment, vehicles & trailers. Based in our Ventia Workshop in Withcott at the bottom of the Toowoomba range. This position will see you working on a vast variety of oil and gas/ minerals equipment as well as supporting the wider Ventia business. This is a fulltime role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with the opportunity for over time. You will get to work with a great team in an exciting environment. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Servicing, repairing & manufacturing of new and rebuilt drilling / well servicing rigs 
• Refurbishment and assembly of oil and gas equipment  
• Service & repairs of vehicles and trailers (transport & earthmoving equipment)
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics 
• Producing high-quality work.
• General housekeeping of work area and equipment

• Entry into the Oil and Gas industry and could potentially lead to a Field FIFO role

 
Skills and Experience

• Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Plant Mechanic 
• Preferably experience with CAT equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics 
• Good understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
