About the Role: 
 

We’re on the lookout for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our workover operations in the oil and gas industry. In this role you will roam and provide support across multiple sites. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be an essential part of our trades team, ensuring the rigs keep operating. You’ll take the lead on all preventive and reactive maintenance for our workover rigs, working with our roaming team of electricians, welders, and other skilled trades. The point of hire is Toowoomba. In this role, for your two weeks on, you will live and work at camp with the rig crews and trades team. When you mobilise to site, you’ll be provided with a work vehicle (shared with your back-to-back), fully equipped with tooling, a laptop, and a work phone. The vehicle is for onsite work purposes during your swing and is handed over at the end of your rotation.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Performing planned maintenance and servicing of transport equipment and drill rigs 
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults to minimise downtime
  • Providing field support across multiple rig sites 
  • Working closely with the rig crews and roaming trades to keep operations running smoothly
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs via our maintenance system (MEX)
  • Living and working alongside the rig crews and trades teams at remote camps during your swing

About You: 

  • Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Volvo trucks and CAT equipment (an advantage)
  • Proven ability to fault-find and troubleshoot under pressure
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics 
  • Good understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Ability to work in remote locations
