Safety (SHEQ) Advisor

About the Role

Are you passionate about safety and ready to make a meaningful impact in the Townsville region? Ventia is seeking a proactive and people focused Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Advisor to support our Telecommunications sector. This full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, has become available due to an extension of the contract and increased workload. It's a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation for your career in safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Field & Office Balance: Approx. 70% in the field and 30% in the office or working from home. No two days are the same.
• Site Support: Deliver practical SHEQ guidance across multiple project sites.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, respectful relationships with workers, subcontractors, clients, and internal Ventia teams.
• Safety Culture: Promote and support a positive safety culture and compliance with WHS legislation and procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• A genuine interest/ passion in safety and supporting others
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in audits and reporting
• Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum)
• ICAM training is advantageous but not essential
• Current driver’s licence
