Due to an increase in workload we are looking for an experienced Electrician/Electrical Fitter to join our small but hardworking team of Electrical Fitters, Mechanical Fitters, and apprentices base out of the scenic town of Twizel.

 

Situated in the heart of the spectacular Mackenzie High Country surrounded by mountains and lakes, this town is well-positioned base for mountain climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, skiing, hiking and has gold status Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

This role will be responsible in undertaking tasks associated with electrical substation and power station construction and maintenance.

 

You will be supporting a team, working together in providing safe, reliable, and cost effective construction, erection, installation, repair, assembly, maintenance, and modification of all types of high voltage and low voltage electrical gear.

 

This is a highly critical role supporting essential New Zealand infrastructure.

 

There is a big focus on working as part of one big national electrical services team, sharing information with supervisors, team leaders, and other team members to contribute in the overall growth of the business.

 

Required Skills and Competencies

 

  • Demonstrate experience in HV and or LV work for at least 2 years after training/apprenticeship;
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance and construction of power station equipment preferred
  • Demonstrated repair and maintenance experience with power transformers and OLTC;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in rigging, and crane operation and advantage but not a requirement and will provide traning as necessary
  • Demonstrated experience with Working at heights, Confined Space and Hazardous substances;
  • Certified electrician with NZ registration and current practicing licence or eligible to gain NZ registration.
