EOI Workshop Supervisor

Ventia in partnership with the Australian Defence Force require a Workshop Supervisor on our Wallangarra defence base. The Workshop Supervisor role will include the leadership and supervision of tradespeople to achieve maintenance outcomes for performance, quality, compliance, and safety.  

This is a full-time, permanent role with an attractive salary of 120k inclusive of super.  

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday - 7am to 3:45pm & Friday's - 7am to 12pm (noon)

 

About the role  

  • Supervision of trades personnel and the work being undertaken meets the requirements.  

  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders and contractors to allocate resources effectively. 

  • Leading scheduled inspections. 

  • Incident investigation and reporting. 

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with the management team to develop and maintain effective working procedures. 

  • Ensure compliance with Ventia and contract specific quality assurance and safety programs. 

  • Administrative work including entering training records, approving leave and maintaining attendance records. 

  • Lead and provide development and training support to employees. 

 
About you  

  • Recognized trade certificate or Certificate IV in a trade relevant to the Personnel being supervised and work being undertaken (Fitter and Turner or Vehicle Mechanic) 

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and supervisory roles. 

  • Demonstrated ability and practical experience in leadership of a maintenance team, management of maintenance activities, technical investigation, quality audits and technical inspections  

  • Sound understanding of work, health and safety, and security and environmental obligations in an industrial/maintenance environment to ensure compliance with 
    legislative requirements. 

  • Experience in the use of maintenance management systems. Competencies in the use of computer IT applications such MILIS, SAP and/or Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to coach & lead work teams. 

  • You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
