About the Role

 

Based in our West End, Brisbane office the Project Accountant will be supporting the QLD Electrical&Gas projects, driving business performance through accurate reporting, maximising opportunities and minimising risks, maintaining a clear P&L and transparent balance sheet and ensuring a healthy cash flow through effective debtor and creditor management.

 

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

 

  • End of Month tasks including project performance reporting and actual VS forecast analysis
  • Deliver quarterly reforecasts and project margin analysis
  • Participate in regular contract reviews and provide insights into contract performance, risk and opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Drive continuous improvement in the completion of end-to-end processes, including purchase to pay, payroll, system etc
  • Conduct ad hoc financial modelling and strategic analysis

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Relevant degree in accounting
  • CPA qualification, desirable but not essential
  • 2+ years in project accountant experience, within (capital works) construction or infrastructure industry
  • Ability to manage, maintain, manipulate, and analyse complex and large data sets.
  • Experience with SAP, highly regarded
