Fibre Field Scoper

About the role
The Field Scoper*  will undertake design and field scoping activities for telecommunication assets. The role will be field-based and the successful candidate is expected to be willing to travel for work purposes.

What you’ll be doing

• Liaising with property owners
• Liaising with client representatives
• Field scoping
• Designing Telecommunication infrastructure
• Using computer and tablet software to mark up plans for construction
• Walk long distances through paddocks and uneven terrain
• Enter and exit manholes and pits when required
• Lift and shift manhole and pit lids and other various items whilst on site. 
• Drive long distances in accordance with the Ventia vehicle policy and journey management plans, all vehicles are fitted with vehicle monitoring systems to assist with vehicle safety and maintenance
   

About you

• Similar experience in previous role  
• Relevant trade qualifications
• Ability to read and understand construction plans
• Understanding of the Telstra Copper and Optical Fibre Network
• Relevant experience in managing subcontractors in construction site environment
• Previous experience supervising civil projects and understand Telstra underground infrastructure requirements
• Previous experience working with fibre ploughs, boring machines, and pit pipe crews
• Strong knowledge of Telstra standards around civil construction
• Computer skills (iPad, Trimble GPS, power point)
