About the role
The Field Supervisor* will contribute to the delivery of project on time and within the budget and ensure that relevant stakeholders’ requirements are met by building and maintaining productive internal and external relationships.

What you’ll be doing

  • Continuously oversee work, analyse production methods and performance against schedule
  • Monitoring performance and re-assessing efficiency and quality
  • Analysing tasks and selecting appropriate resources in conjunction with the Project Engineer/Manager and or Construction Manager
  • Communicating with and giving clear direction to the workforce in relation to the company’s expectations
  • Continuously seeking methods to improve and streamline operations
  • Reporting daily site events on a timely basis
  • Planning and scheduling own and team’s work to meet required timelines and outputs
  • Understanding daily work program and directing / allocating staff and contractors as appropriate
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholder

 
About you
To be considered for this role, ideally you will have the following:    

  • Relevant experience in a similar position
  • Understanding of the Optical Fibre Network an advantage
  • Relevant experience in managing subcontractors in construction site environment
  • Strong knowledge of client standards around civil construction
  • Previous experience in scoping and designing civil projects
  • Ability to deal with stakeholders and property owners
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, Teams, etc)
  • Must be willing to travel and live away from home
     

Applicant must be physically fit and able to perform the following:

  • Walk long distances through paddocks and uneven terrain
  • Enter and exit manholes and pits when required
  • Lift and shift manhole and pit lids and other various items whilst on site
  • Drive long distances in accordance with the Ventia vehicle policy and journey management plans
