ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a senior role that requires the person to demonstrate leadership and provide technical assistance and best practices for utility construction focusing on concrete works. The Foreman will act as the technical first-line support for day-to-day issues that arise in the field. The Foreman is also a working member of the team and is expected to undertake this as well as perform the role of a crewmember within their area of expertise. If the business needs to require it, this role is expected to carry out other general foreman duties from time to time outside the specialized scope of their expertise.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing all activities about concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.

• Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labour and materials are required for each stage.

• Complete road maintenance tasks including but not limited to minor drainage work, road rehabilitation, dig-out repairs, asphalt,

• Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.

• Delegating tasks to concrete laborers and providing overall guidance.

• Liaising with the project manager and concrete plants for efficient timing with concrete pours.

• Complete construction finishing tasks for concrete, slipform kerbing, and asphalt.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• 2-3 years of proven concrete Foreman work experience in road or civil construction.

• Minimum class 1 license (Class 2 would be an advantage)

• Experience with formwork and placing and finishing concrete. 

• Be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors.

• Experience with boxing, placing, and finishing concrete ( slipform kerbing is an advantage )

• WTR Licence ( Not required but is an advantage )
