About the role   

This full-time Workforce Planner role is responsible for developing strategic and operational workforce schedules that ensure efficient service delivery and compliance across Defence sites. Working closely with operational teams, you’ll balance workforce availability with service demand, optimise resource allocation, and support safe, customer-focused operations. You’ll also lead the development of annual workforce plans and translate them into actionable rosters aligned with long-term business needs. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):    

  • Strategic Workforce Planning: Design and implement strategic workforce plans and translate them into operational rosters. Support team leaders in managing rosters and contribute to succession planning. Support the Base teams and work as a Team-of-Teams integrator and facilitator across the state and region. 

  • Data Analysis & Insights: Ability to interpret and translate large data sets into meaningful business insights. Utilise data analytics to drive efficiency and reduce overtime. 

  • Compliance & Operational Excellence: Ensure rosters support compliance with Enterprise Agreements, SHEQ systems and WHS requirements. Publish rosters in advance and support operational team delivery. 

  • Customer & Team Engagement: Respond to customer inquiries and feedback professionally and promptly. Collaborate with Base Operations and Service Delivery teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Provide training and guidance on rostering systems and foster a culture of accountability. 

 

 

About you   

  • Qualifications in Business Administration, Statistics or Data Analytics. 

  • Experience in workforce planning, preferably in hospitality and or large service delivery contracts  

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large data sets. 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. 

  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence. 

  • Experience in managing geographically dispersed teams and supporting leadership through coaching and mentoring. 

  • A commitment to safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. 

  • Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police.
