ABOUT THE ROLE

The Construction Manager is responsible for delivering construction support within their branch and overseeing their specific portfolios. This role involves developing strong client relationships and providing exceptional tender bid support that goes above and beyond client expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities

Construction Delivery Support:

  • Efficiently utilize company resources by managing machinery, materials, and staff to enhance contract quality and efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor contract deliverables and mitigate delivery risks.
  • Ensure strong financial management to meet budgets and maximize revenue, while managing scope changes.
  • Provide technical and leadership support to project teams and collaborate with the regional team for optimal resource productivity.

Business Development and Tender Bid Support:

  • Foster constructive relationships with key client representatives and assist with client contracts.
  • Assess and account for risks in contracts and proposals.
  • Conduct audits at project closure to compare actual costs with estimates.

Continuous Improvement and Operations:

  • Identify and implement areas for improvement and operational excellence, including technology and process enhancements.
  • Ensure strong risk and SHEQ performance within the project/business unit.
  • Adhere to risk management and health, safety, and environmental standards, promoting a culture of safety.

Personal Leadership:

  • Uphold Ventia’s values of Integrity, Collaboration, Challenge, and Ingenuity.
  • Engage and develop the delivery team to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within client expectations.

 

ABOUT YOU

As the successful candidate, you will need to have extensive experience in Project or Construction management where you have successfully collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders and clients, consistently achieving poisitive outcomes.

You will need to have a strong record in budget management within a multi-disciplinary business environment.

 

Desirable Experience:

Roading/Civil construction experience preferably within the local region as well as Familiarity with NZS3910 contracting requirements are an advantage.

 

Education and Qualifications:

Class 1 NZ Driver’s Licence and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) along with NZCE qualifications or equivalent.
