We’re once again excited to get to work on New Zealand’s largest transport infrastructure project, City Rail Link (CRL) in Auckland. City Rail Link is an ambitious transport project underway in central Auckland. Billed as the largest transport infrastructure project in New Zealand, the project is delivering 3.45km-long dual railway tunnels deep below the city, designed to double the number of people within a 30-minute commute of central Auckland.
Whilst our Electricity & Gas business was delivering specialist electrical work on Waitematā (Britomart) station as part of this project, they coordinated with Ventia’s Telecommunications business to share with their client the power of Ventia and our breadth of capability. Learn more about this project and it's successful delivery here.

Our Transmission and Distribution electricity crew was privileged to work closely and build a mutually respectful relationship with the Kokatha People while delivering a large project in South Australia. Located almost 500 kilometres north of Adelaide, deep in the South Australian outback, one of the most important considerations for delivering this project was working with and respecting the local community whilst delivering the works. 
Ventia’s success on this project was inextricably linked to our close working relationship with the Kokatha People. Our planning and construction activity was strongly influenced by the requirements of working respectfully on their land. You can read more about how we worked closely with local community here.

  • Paul Lorigan, a foreman in Auckland’s Temporary Traffic Management Department, recently celebrated 25 years with business, including 13 years of operating and maintaining the moveable lane barrier machines on the Auckland Harbour Bridge. 
    In winter you can find Paul down at the local footy field refereeing a cohort of rugby league players: “I get a lot out of it – I think the kids do too. I am also a huge rugby league fan and barrack for the West Tigers,” he added. Hear more of Hugh's story and impact on his work and community here.
