Electrical Design Engineer

Ventia is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Telecommunications/Wamarra team within the Critical Infrastructure division, based at North Plymton and Cavan office. About the Role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering detailed electrical designs and supporting project execution.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Developing electrical detailed designs for telecommunications infrastructure
• Producing cost estimates for materials and labour
• Assisting construction teams during project delivery
• Updating databases and producing accurate as-built drawings

About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background and a proactive mindset. Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous experience as an Electrical Engineer or Designer
• Technical fluency in Low Voltage and DC power systems
• Proficiency in preparing bills of quantities and interpreting CAD drawings
• Strong skills in MS Office, particularly Excel for cost estimation
• Familiarity with MS Access, Power Automation, and Power Apps (desirable)
• A current manual driver’s licence
• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
• Understanding of ISO9001, OH&S legislation, and environmental licensing

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

• Experience designing solar and battery systems for commercial applications
• Knowledge of solar industry regulations and standards
• Basic understanding of LV/HV AC electrical systems
