Operations Manager - Playgrounds

Ventia is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead our Playground Maintenance team across Auckland. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on safety, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination, ensuring playgrounds are safe and enjoyable for the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Operations Manager, you’ll oversee a team of 6 playground maintenance operators (3 based in Rosedale, 3 in Mt Wellington). Your team will be responsible for auditing sites, managing schedules, coordinating subcontractors for larger repairs, and ensuring all equipment is safe for public use.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in Excel spreadsheets, understands quoting processes, and enjoys working closely with field teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct audits and safety checks on playground sites
• Manage and update daily schedules and GPS tracking systems
• Coordinate subcontractors for complex repairs
• Review reports and ensure compliance
• Lead and support a close-knit team of 6 operators
• Ensure timely completion of scheduled maintenance
• Prepare and manage quotations to ensure compliance and profitability

ABOUT YOU

• Maintenance qualification preferred but not essential/required
• Experience managing maintenance teams
• Strong auditing and coordination skills
• Commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement
• Comfortable using technology and spreadsheets
• Minimum Full Class 1 Driver Licence
