About the role 
Ventia has a long-standing partnership with Qenos, and we are seeking an experienced & qualified Mechanical Supervisor to join a Program of casual work at their Altona Facility. 


The primary purpose of the Mechanical Supervisor is to effectively coordinate, control and supervise all field service work conducted in their designated area of responsibility.  The applicant will also ensure the total compliance of all subcontractors and Ventia personnel, in relation to the contract objectives of Safety, Quality, and Customer Service. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is the first point of call for maintenance and 3rd party subcontractor’s expertise within their area. 

 

  • Casual opportunity to commence 30th September 2024
  • Estimated roster – 6 days per week, 10 hour days
  • Estimated finish December 2024
  • $85 per hour plus super (flat rate)    
  • Gate start, seeking locals only as there is no LAHA or accommodation provided   

 

What you will be doing 

  • Provide the motivation, influence and persuade personnel to work as a cohesive and productive team focused on achieving specified outcomes in a timely manner 
  • Ensure that technical procedures work, instruction test plans and check list are available to trade staff 
  • Ensure that technical procedures, inspection and test plans are performed in accordance with agreed client requirements through the trade staff 
  • Ensure planned work is completed as per schedule and emergency reactive jobs are carried out as efficiently as possible with minimum effect on planned work 
  • Assist with work scheduling in conjunction with the plant Planners and Coordinators 
  • Report of all non-conforming work and/or supplies to allow accurate non-conforming cost statement to be prepared 
  • Reviewing actual hours and planned hours, ensuring timesheets and work orders are reconciled  

 

About you 
The successful candidate will have a relevant Mechanical trade or engineering qualification accompanied with 3+ years' experience within a supervisory / leadership role ideally within the oil & gas industry.  

 

In this role you will also require:   

  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems (SAP preferably) 
  • Highly motivated with good written and oral communication skills 
  • Hands-on' leader in the day-to-day planning, preparation and delivery of activities 
  • Demonstrated experience supervising teams of 10 personnel or more 
  • An innovative approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and successful delivery method 
  • A proactive, motivated mindset, someone who thrives when working under pressure. 
  • Proven experience to develop and maintain internal & external relationships 
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
