Integration Engineer - Telecommunications

Ventia provide network construction, deployment, and maintenance team to the Telecommunications sector. Our specialists build and maintain some of the region’s largest fibre optic and mobile networks and are dedicated to delivering superior design, build and maintenance solutions and innovation for critical communications networks.

We’re hiring a 2x Provisioning Engineers on a full-time permanent basis to be responsible for designing and provisioning network elements and services on both existing and new transport platforms including but not limited to Fiber, Microwave Radio, DWDM, SDH and Ethernet.

This is currently a hybrid role split between remote working at our Arndell Park office. This role is required to work night shift approx. 1 week per month from 11pm-6am which is paid at overtime rates.

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintain and enhance working relationships within the team and assist in resolving any team issues or conflicts.
• Commission and integrate L2 and L3 Transmission Nodes into exiting transport networks.
• Decommission redundant network elements, links and services.
• Report and liaise with both customer and internal departments on project outcomes.
• Take part in Customer Relationship Management, involving project status reports and issue management.

About you:

• Experience in Telecommunication Core and Access Transport designing, integration, provisioning and fault finding.
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering preferably in Telecommunications or Information Technology.
• Ability to provision services on transport platforms fibre, DWDM, SDH and Ethernet.
• Strong knowledge of provisioning tools and systems including Helix, Spatial Web, VMR and Meerkat.
• Very good knowledge of MPLS/IP networks including layer 3 routing protocols (BGP,ISIS,OSPF) and IPV4 & IPV6 addressing schemes.
• Knowledge of Network Management Systems including (but not limited to): Huawei, Juniper Projen, and Alcatel SAM (Service Aware Manager)
