Senior Electrical Engineer

Due to the recent growth within Ventia’s Critical Infrastructure Telecommunications team, we are looking to employ a Senior Design Engineer to supervise electrical design engineers and their workload, producing detailed documentation and designs encompassing civil, electrical, solar/hybrid, and structural aspects designs. This role can be based anywhere in Australia.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Electrical Design Engineers, including technical guidance, training and scheduling.
• Manage complex and high-visibility projects, overseeing all phases of the design process from initial concept to final completion, including managing budgets and schedules and proactively identifying and mitigating potential cost overruns and schedule delays.
• Perform thorough feasibility studies and technical evaluations, proactively identifying potential risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Generate detailed technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and calculations, for a variety of electrical systems, with a focus on critical infrastructure such as DC power systems, diesel generators, UPS systems, earthing systems, and solar power system.

About you:

• Electrical background is essential.
• Previous experience working as a designer.
• Experience working within Telepower is desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and experience managing complex projects.
• Ability to use various Microsoft Suite programs in particular MS Excel.

• Willingness to travel when required.
• Current drivers licence.
