The Job
Ventia's Auckland Council project team is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all council community facilities including buildings, parks, and public amenities. Reporting to our Operations Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the management of all hard and soft FM functions. 
Your time in this role will be split between the Ventia head office in Mount Wellington and site visits with the client, staff, and contractors across the area. You will lead two direct reports who manage a team of roughly 40 people consisting of hard and soft service staff as well as subcontractors. You will maintain and further build upon the positive, engaged team culture, and improve staff retention by creating a rewarding, high-performance environment. You will build and maintain strong rapport with client representatives, community groups, internal stakeholders outside your direct reporting line, and subcontractors.  
 

Your Profile
You will have worked in a management role in either Facilities Management or some area of infrastructure maintenance. You will be renowned for your leadership skills and will have successfully led teams in challenging environments. You will have good financial acumen - a basic understanding of P&L coupled with a good understanding of cost management and how you can influence cost reduction across time, materials, and labour. You will have well-developed relationship-building skills which will enable you to build relationships in a large corporate environment and get the required support from internal stakeholders including SHEQ, P&C, finance IT, etc.  
 

Requirements
•    Qualification in Asset Management or related discipline preferred 
•    5+ years of Facilities Management experience in large and complex organisations that require remote management
•    An effective and hands-on leader who can lead from the front and instill a proactive culture within your team 
•    A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a high-performing team
•    Strong experience managing reactive and PP maintenance for a large portfolio of assets
•    Ability to collaborate with senior leadership and site-based managers to align on facilities strategies and build the capability to deliver 
•    Natural ability in relationship building & communicating with our valued clients, service staff, leaders, and contractors
