Field Electrician / Technician

About You
Reporting to the Field Supervisor, we are seeking experienced Field / Technician / Electrician within our NBN / Telecommunications team based in Northern Tasmania.
 

The primary purpose of the position and the teams will be engaged in splicing / Electrical works with some Copper works.

The role may require some travel and time away from home.

Typical Duties and Tasks:

• Undertakes Electrical / splicing activities as required by Supervisor / Team Leader
• Undertakes fault location and restoration using electronic location and testing equipment (Viavi)
• Coaches any less experienced jointers/splicers to enhance competence and skills, Internal / External.
• Knowledge of Network and the ability to Scope Civil works, supply “Mud Maps” and provide SORs. Working knowledge of Atlas
• Perform Field and Desk Top Audits
• Identify potential hazardous situations and take corrective actions accordingly and nurture a work environment where OHS & E issues are dealt with proactively.     
• Report on critical delays that effect the delivery of projects with successful outcomes to customers.
• Ensuring that appropriate tools, safety equipment and materials are available to enable the timely completion of tasks.

About You
Ideally you will have experience in a similar role accompanied, NBN Enable tickets and have or willing to obtain First Aid / CPR. 

You will also possess skills in: 

• Copper and Fibre Splicing
• Experience in Electrical AC / troubleshooting of nodes and towers
• Generator and RCD troubleshooting
• HFC knowledge and experience (Desirable)
• Pole Top Rescue (Desirable)
