Confluence Water, a Ventia, Downer and Jacobs Joint Venture, is one of three Regional Delivery Partnerships providing services for Sydney Water. We work hard to ensure that Sydney Water keeps running for people who live in the North Region of Sydney - rain, hail or shine. We are often the first to reach an emergency during severe weather events and we are responsible for the delivery of an unprecedented pipeline of capital works across the life of our ten year contract.
Confluence Water delivers design, construction, maintenance and facilities management services from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.
We're seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to manage and deliver our Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) program across our operating region (lower Hawkesbury and North West Hubs)
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of mechanical / Electrical maintenance projects across water and wastewater treatment plants. You’ll manage scope, schedule, quality, cost, and safety, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the MPM program safely, on time, and within budget.
- Forecast and manage project costs, schedules, claims, and compensation events.
- Create and manage job plans and ensure workflow approvals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Sydney Water and site stakeholders.
- Coordinate with planning teams to align labour and resources.
- Resolve project issues, identify risks, and drive process improvements.
- Prepare monthly reporting on project progress, cost, and cashflow.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- Proven project engineering experience in Utilities or Infrastructure.
- Strong mechanical knowledge: pumps, valves, screens, grit handling, etc.
- Demonstrated safety leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software. (Primavera P6)
- Excellent communication, planning, and organisational abilities.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally.
