Project Engineer - Telecommunications

About The Role:

The Project Engineer role is for the ICF new shelter and exchange upgrade program. As a Project Engineer reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting Area Managers and staff. Your primary responsibility will be to manage tasks in close collaboration with all internal and external project stakeholders, ensuring the contract scope is delivered on time and within budget.

You will oversee the project scope and provide technical support to the design and construction teams. This includes reviewing design submissions to ensure that all activities, materials, and efforts are accurately captured. Additionally, you will assist Area Managers in developing and controlling project budgets, managing requisitions, and overseeing project changes, including costs and timelines.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage material and subcontractor requisitions.
• Review and provide feedback on project designs.
• Develop project budgets for Area Managers.
• Coordinate all contract trades through the weekly program and communicate with Field and Area Managers to ensure timely project starts.
• Analyze and track cost performance to meet project objectives.
• Review completion progress against financial forecasts.
• Initiate change management processes.
• Conduct ongoing reviews of open defects.
• Update project progress on a weekly basis.
• Process contractor claims at month-end.
• Manage variations and change requests with clients.

About You

You will have a Tertiary Qualifications in Civil/Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or Equivalent, accompanied with at least 5+ years, ideally in the infrastructure / construction industry.

You will also possess:

• At least 2 years relevant experience
• Good understanding of telecommunications infrastructure
• Proven record of dealing with key stakeholders, including workforce and sub-contractors.
• Proven record of project reporting
