Plumber

Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities.

In partnership with the Australia Defence Force, we are looking for a qualified Plumber to join the team at HMAS Cerberus located in Crib Point, VIC. 

Reporting to the Infrastructure Services Manager, your main responsibility will be to provide plumbing trade activities to install, maintain, repair, replace and ensure the integrity and performance of equipment and facilities within the contract.

This is a permanent full-time role working 07:00-15:30 Monday to Friday.

Other responsibilities:

• Displays solid hands-on technical skills, developed through trade training and experience.
• Ensure that ongoing maintenance tasks are appropriately planned and executed in accordance with state regulations, including determining task priorities and creating appropriate support documentation.
• To effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on plumbing system.
• To be proactive in addressing customer complaints and demonstrate competence in establishing and maintaining long term relationships with clients.
• Perform work in a safe manner, abiding by Defence and Ventia’s legislative safe work procedures, instructions, and safety management practices.
• Observe quality and technical procedures, work instructions and practices.

Skills and experience:

• Ability to multitask together with significant hands-on experience in an operational plumbing environment, including ability to diagnose problems, determine and facilitate effective solutions.
• Demonstrated understanding of planned maintenance principles and legislative requirements
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software necessary to support the position.
• Basic understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management System.
• Understanding of MS Word and MS Excel.
• An ability to interact effectively with technical staff, subcontractors, senior military officers, and Client representatives.

• A current VIC Plumbing licence
• Water Licence
• Sanitary Licence
• Drainage Licence
• Backflow Licence - Desirable
• Gas Fitter – Desirable
• White Card
