Substation Work Group Leader

About the role
Reporting to the Construction Manager and project specific Site Manager, the successful applicant will be providing full construction activities for Transmission and Distribution Substations within the Victorian Electrical Industry.

As a Work Group Leader you will be responsible for running small teams of electricians installing and modifying high-voltage electrical equipment, including primary, secondary, and earthing systems, in both Greenfield and Brownfield sites, while ensuring compliance with industry and company safety standards.

The Electrical Crew Leader position is based in VIC within our Substation’s division and are required to travel regularly within the "area of responsibility" - this will be a VIC role and area will cover Metro & Regional areas, with their depot being  based in Dandenong.

Travel may involve working away from home (overnight stays & remote travel) and be available for overtime which will be dependant on the Projects deliverables.

• Strong leadership skills
• Experience in Brownfield Terminal and Zone Substations
• Ability to work within small and large teams
• Knowledgeable about relevant regulations and standards for high-voltage electrical work
• Accuracy in performing duties
• Ability to work under time pressure (under outage constraints)
• Adaptable in handling all aspects of the role (Primary and Secondary)

To be successful you must have the following:

• Electrical qualifications / trade certificates and licence
• Valid Driver’s License
• First Aid certificate with CPR
• VESI Complaint Training (favourable)
• Network Authorities (favourable)
• High Risk Work Licenses WP,CN,RI,DG (favourable)
