The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Asset Engineer to join our Asset Management Services team for the Western Harbour and Sydney Harbour Tunnels. This is a pivotal role focused on leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Asset Information Management System (AIMS). You’ll be responsible for developing and executing asset management strategies, overseeing data collection and validation, monitoring asset performance, planning maintenance activities, and delivering insightful reporting. Your work will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of asset data, enabling informed decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management & Compliance

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of asset management strategies to enhance reliability, safety, and lifecycle efficiency.
  • Maintain and update Technical Maintenance Plans in line with legislation, standards, site needs, and contractual obligations.
  • Lead change management initiatives and manage defect liability processes to ensure compliance and stakeholder accountability.

Performance Monitoring & Data Management

  • Analyse asset performance data to inform decisions on renewal, disposal, and maintenance.
  • Conduct condition assessments and ensure data integrity within the Asset Information Management System (AIMS).
  • Apply engineering techniques (e.g. RCA, RCFA) to resolve recurring issues and improve equipment effectiveness.

Operational Planning & System Support

  • Develop and implement asset management procedures and documentation.
  • Use AIMS to plan, issue, and close out work orders, supporting internal and external teams.
  • Provide training and troubleshooting support for AIMS users.

Reporting & Insights

  • Prepare reports and dashboards on maintenance performance, asset condition, and KPIs.

 

Could You Be Our Next Asset Engineer?

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles (ISO 55000).
  • Demonstrated experience in asset engineering, maintenance, or construction.
  • Proficiency in extracting, analysing, and interpreting engineering data.
  • Familiarity with AIMS/CMMS systems (preferably Maximo).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Advanced IT and data analysis capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Experience in road and tunnel infrastructure projects.
  • Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA).
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary infrastructure environments.
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles.
