About the role:   

Reporting to our Executive General Manager for Fixed Networks for our Telecommunications Sector this is a newly created role where you will deliver project specific scope representing our organisation in interactions with clients, communities, subcontractors and other stakeholders across the business. 

You will ensure project execution in line with timelines, budgets, quality specifications, safety requirements and client expectations. This role will make a key contribution to our success and align with our overall business strategy to redefine service excellence through customer focus, innovation and sustainability.

 
Based from our North Sydney Corporate head office this position offers flexible hybrid working with time in the office,  work from home and on the road. 

Role Responsibilities:  

• Oversee the execution of the Optus NGTM, Optus Reef, Aurizon and various utility contracts nationally within client requirements and regulatory standards.
• Deliver business readiness and further growth opportunities.
• Proactively forecast, plan and review project execution in conjunction with relevant personnel in accordance with the program of work and other contractual requirements.
• Identify, recruit and onboard experienced Project Teams and workforce to exceed program demands.
• Be the primary point of contact for the engagement of subcontractors monitoring and managing performance and ensuring resources meet project delivery milestones.Promote innovative approaches to project issues and variations that optimise profitability whist ensuring service excellence.
• Drive strategic initiatives and improvements across the board in delivery, operational excellence, transformation programs, and safety to meet and exceed client expectations.
• Represent Ventia in the communities we operate to enhance the Ventia brand experience for those that rely on critical infrastructure for essential services.

 
About you:  

• Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline.
• Well-developed Project Management exposure within a complex business at scale that are client facing.
• Experience with project mobilisation and demobilisation would be held in high regard.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership capability working with large dispersed and diverse teams internally as well as subcontractors.
• Focus on driving continuous improvement while being a champion of safety and quality.
• Exceptional financial, commercial and business acumen with high level written and verbal communications skills.
• Customer focused with the ability to build strong trusting relationships with stakeholders.
• Confident in business partnering with a wide variety of stakeholders including operational areas and members of our Telecommunications Leadership Team.
• To be successful in this role you will be required to be an Australian Citizen with the ability to undertake a security clearance police check.
