Ventia is excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Professional to join our team based on-site at Mount Piper Power Station Blackman Flat, NSW. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team working alongside the site contractors and our client Energy Australia.
As the SHEQ Advisor you will assist with implementation of the Ventia health and safety management system, procedures and processes, whilst actively contributing to SHEQ improvement strategies.

About the Role
Position includes but not limited to:
- Participate in site planning meetings to promote risk management strategies and processes
- Review and update safe work method statements, work procedures and documentation in consultation with work groups
- Conduct incident investigations and reporting in line with the Ventia incident classifications
- Participate in auditing processes to monitor effectiveness of risk controls
- Promoting the participation of all people in achieving a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment.
- Provide input into, and assist with delivering SHEQ training packages and presentations
- Work with project team and a H&S admin to ensure work crews are correctly certified and have successfully completed verifications of competency (VOC), utilising Ventia systems
- Provide input into the Risk Assessment process and ensure identified controls are transferred to SWMS, work Instructions and Start Cards
About You
To be considered for this role you will require the following:
- Holds current Drivers Licence, White card and valid First Aid Certificate
- Tertiary Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment – highly desirable
- Relevant industry experience – background in Civil/Construction
- Formal training in incident investigation - ICAM essential
- Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and codes of practice.
- Demonstrated experience in computerised and manual document control systems.
