Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Manager

Ventia delivers comprehensive facilities management services for the City of Sydney, overseeing maintenance of more than 250 assets.

We’re looking to employ a full time permanent Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to foster an integrated approach to SHEQ management in delivering on legal, contractual and business requirements.

What you’ll be doing:

• Manage the implementation of SHEQ Management Plans across contracts, ensuring compliance with legislation, safety standards, and frameworks. 
• Manage one direct report and provide support and guidance relating to all SHEQ matters.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents and recommend actions to leadership. 
• Ensure communication and compliance with SHEQ policies, promoting a safety-first culture. 
• Oversee employee rehabilitation and Return to Work planning. 
• Ensure risk assessments and registers are maintained per company requirements. 
• Develop and deliver safety training, including inductions, toolboxes, and ad hoc sessions. 
• Report statistical data to senior leadership and track contract performance.

• Demonstrated people management experience.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture.
• Each day brings new challenges, so adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment are essential.
• Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards.
