The Ventia Graduate Program is a two‑year experience designed to help you go further. We offer diverse rotations that let you explore how your skills can create real impact across our business. 

You’ll step beyond your comfort zone, gaining exposure to both corporate and in‑field environments. Along the way, you’ll work on meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced teams, and build strong networks that help you focus on what matters most to you, whether that’s refining the details, pushing for better every day, or finding new ways to collaborate or contribute to your community. 

As a #VentiaGrad, you’ll be supported at every stage. With ongoing mentoring, peer connections and tailored learning opportunities, you’ll have the space and encouragement to grow your capability, confidence and impact.

Our graduate streams

Engineering 

Kick-start your engineering career across civil, structural, electrical, mechanical or environmental disciplines. Through four 6‑month rotations, you’ll move between project sites, design teams and engineering functions—building hands-on experience solving real infrastructure challenges and developing both technical and practical skills.

SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) 

Play a key role in creating safe and sustainable workplaces. Across four 6‑month rotations, you’ll gain exposure to safety, health, environmental and quality functions; supporting risk management, compliance and assurance activities across projects and operations.

Project Management

Build the skills to plan and deliver complex projects from start to finish. Through four 6‑month rotations across project environments, you’ll gain experience in coordination, scheduling, stakeholder management and project delivery, working closely with experienced teams on live projects. 

Asset Management

Help maximise the performance of critical infrastructure assets. In this stream, you’ll complete four 6‑month rotations across operational and project environments, developing capability in asset lifecycle planning, performance analysis and data-driven decision-making. 

Finance & Accounting

Develop strong commercial and financial foundations supporting large-scale operations. Your rotations include a mix of longer and shorter placements (including a 12‑month rotation), giving you deeper exposure to financial reporting, project finance, budgeting and business performance.

Business & Commerce 

Gain broad exposure to how a large organisation operates. Across four 6‑month rotations, you’ll work in different business functions, developing skills in operations, stakeholder engagement, business analysis and continuous improvement.

Data Science & Analytics

Turn data into meaningful insights that drive decisions. Through four 6‑month rotations, you’ll work across different teams and datasets, building experience in data analysis, visualisation and reporting to support projects and business outcomes.

Information Systems

Support and enhance the technology that powers Ventia’s operations. Across four 6‑month rotations, you’ll gain experience in system implementation, support and optimisation, working on technology solutions that improve how the business operates.

1. Preparation

Explore our business

2. Application

Applications for the Ventia 2027 Graduate Program will be open from July 13th.

  • Submit your application to Ventia's Graduate Program by selecting the graduate job that best matches your qualifications and interests. 
  • If you need an alternative way to submit your application because of accessibility needs or personal circumstances, please contact TASupport@ventia.com. 
  • Once you have applied, watch out for an email acknowledgement of your application and an online questionnaire for you to complete. 

3. Online interactive assessment  

If your application progresses, you’ll receive an invitation to complete an online assessment and a video interview. This assessment is your opportunity to show us how you think and approach the type of real-life challenges and scenarios you will face in a graduate role. This assessment isn’t timed and will take approximately 45 minutes for you to complete. 

4. Assessment centre 

If you are successful, you’ll be invited to attend an online assessment centre with senior Ventia leaders and other candidates. This interactive session is an opportunity for you to meet and interact with these stakeholders, interacting with people who might be your future colleagues to showcase your skills in a collaborative environment. Be sure to come prepared, be yourself, and enjoy the experience; this is just as much an opportunity for you to learn more about Ventia as it is for us to learn about you. 

5. Background checks: ensuring safety and suitability

As part of our Commitment to safety, integrity and compliance, certain roles at Ventia require background checks. These checks are not just a formality, they’re essential to meeting the inherent requirements of the position and ensure a safe environment for our people, clients, and you as a candidate.  
 
Depending on the role, checks may include medical assessments, reference checks, and police clearances. We’ll always explain what's required, support you through the process, and treat your information with care and confidentiality.  

6. Offers and onboarding

If you're successful, we’ll extend a formal offer and guide you through our onboarding process. We’ll also conduct any necessary background checks, always with transparency and care.

Once you accept, our onboarding team will ensure you have everything you need to start strong, from system access to team introductions.

Holly Parkin

Graduate program participant

Holly dove into the program with her first rotation in the Transport sector, working on the North East Link project in Victoria. There, she applied her design background to help prepare and review activities in the lead up to Ventia’s tunnel operations.
Sagun Kafle

Engineer graduate

After discovering Ventia through the GradConnect website, Sagun was immediately drawn to the graduate program. Though unfamiliar with the company at the time, the opportunity to rotate across multiple business areas was a major attraction.
Freya Olsen

Business graduate

During this 6-month period, Freya was able to take the lead on improving the onboarding process for our Defence business unit, manage an event for ANZAC day, refresh position descriptions and shadow key team members to enhance her learning overall.
