Food and Beverage Utility

Ventia is currently seeking Food and Beverage Utilities to perform hospitality & kitchen duties in the Mess and Bar areas.  Ventia currently have vacancies within our Defence Base Services contract at Robertson Barracks, RAAF Darwin and Defence Accommodation in Howard Springs. We are pleased to offer roles that include job security/ Flexible working arrangements and full on the job training.

Specific requirements of the role will include:

• Meeting and Greeting Defence Personal
• Cash Handling/EFTPOS use
• Washing crockery, cutlery, glassware and other kitchen equipment at the end of each shift.
• Ensure all packaged and/or perishable items (such as bread, milk etc.) are checked for best/ used by dates prior to service.
• Cleaning of the premises and equipment.
• Ensuring a high level of customer service is exercised at all times.
• Assisting with restock, stock rotation, loading and unloading supplies, stores and equipment.
• Assisting with stock take and inventory control for all Kitchen supplies.
• Ensuring the facility’s HACCP programme’s day-to-day compliance requirements are met.

Skills & Experience:

• Excellent Customer Service
• Responsible Service of Alcohol 
• Experience in Barista would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Hospitality and Catering service delivery is preferred but not essential
• Knowledge or experience working within Defence would be advantageous.
• Driver’s License and own transport
• Basic knowledge of computers and ability to use online rostering systems
