Control Room Operator Team Lead

Due to an increase in works, a new position has been created at Ventia for a Tunnel Control Room Operator Team Lead. The CRO team lead will be working at our Sydney Harbour Tunnel Contract in North Sydney. Ventia has been awarded both the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and Western Harbour Tunnel Contracts for a period of ten years with two additional ten year options for extension.

About the role

The Tunnel Control Room Operator Team Lead will support the Operations Manager to deliver the training, mentoring and roster management of the Tunnel Control Room Operators. The purpose of this position is to provide the control of the road and traffic operations of the tunnel to ensure safe and efficient flow of traffic using computer control systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the operation of Sydney Harbour tunnel using defined procedures and electronic systems
• Detect and respond to incidents from the control room systems and the camera network within the required KPI criteria
• Observe and initiate remedial action to traffic conditions where required
• Log all incidents through various stages
• Assist and train both traffic control room operators and incident response crew
• Create and manage a roster for the team, filling in shifts where needed
• Assist with the monitoring of scheduling, procedures and set up all planned traffic disruptions
• Assist in the development and management of the training required for Traffic Control Operators and Incident Response personnel
• Identifying opportunities or deficiencies in operational practices to result in the improvement of service to the contract's customers or staff

About You

• Exceptional reporting and computer skills
• Experience in a similar role
• Cert IV in Traffic Control Room Operations
• Good knowledge of traffic control
• NSW drivers license and white card
• Emergency response training
• First Aid and CPR training
